Marina has been an art director/designer in New York City for over 25 years. She has held full-time positions at Redbook Magazine, Sports Illustrated and Spring O’Brien Advertising. She started Marina Brolin Design after recognizing a need for marketing materials that cut through visual clutter by communicating clearly and evocatively. Marina was also a partner in Three Tarts, a baking company based in New York.
On a project basis, Marina has worked with such organizations as Architectural Digest, Fujifilm, Network Associates and Pfizer. Specific projects include: designing a boxed set of CDs for GlaxoSmithKline; art directing the quarterly catalog and subway advertising for High 5 Tickets to the Arts; and creating a trade show exhibit for Grolier. Marina has created corporate identities for many small businesses, including restaurants, software companies, retail stores and engineering firms. While at Spring O’Brien Advertising, Marina art directed print advertisements, collateral and direct mail for accounts such as BritRail, AIG and Microsoft.
Marina graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in graphic design and completed further study at Parsons School of Design and New York University. She is an expert in all print-based graphics software and well versed in print and web graphics production processes.
