When they asked me to design their logo, there was really nothing to build the brand from - the theater has yet to host it’s first performance. It was purchased in 2020, at what was, hopefully, the middle of the Covid pandemic. That, combined with the time needed to renovate means they won’t open until Fall 2021. So using the elegant old structure, abandoned vault, and old safe deposit boxes as inspiration, we went through many ideas and ultimately came up with this version - the half combination lock and tick mark over the “o” in Strongbox. The final logo combines the clean, straight lines of a sans-serif font with the curvy and elaborate “3T” symbol. She has catered everything from 500-person events to on-screen cocktail parties for Sex and the City, family dinners for The Sopranos and deli scenes on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Diane wanted me to freshen her brand colors and design letterhead and a Powerpoint proposal template that she could update herself. I came up with the red, gold, and orange color combination after hearing her describe her excitement about the food she creates and the warmth she brings to the table. In addition, advertisers need to be represented appropriately according to various factors and an overall visual theme must be developed around the sometimes disparate books featured.
